As we age, our skin becomes thinner and drier, and the natural production of collagen and elastin begins to slow. Over time, this contributes to the visible signs of ageing — including fine lines, creases and loss of facial volume. Excessive sun exposure can accelerate this process significantly.
Repeated facial expressions also play a role. Muscle contractions from everyday movements such as smiling, squinting and raising the eyebrows can gradually create lines that become more prominent over time.
If you have noticed these changes and are considering your options, a cosmetic consultation with one of our doctors is the right first step. At The Skin Lab, we take the time to understand your concerns, assess your skin thoroughly and recommend treatments that are clinically appropriate for you as an individual — with no obligation to proceed.
Every treatment plan is personalised. Your safety, your results and your long-term skin health are always our priority.
What to expect
What happens at my first consultation?
Your first consultation is a no-obligation conversation with one of our doctors. We take the time to understand your concerns, assess your skin and discuss whether any treatments may be appropriate for you. There is no pressure to proceed — our priority is making sure you feel informed and comfortable before any decisions are made.
Who will be treating me?
All cosmetic medicine treatments at The Skin Lab are performed exclusively by our qualified doctors. We do not delegate these treatments to non-medical practitioners — your safety and care are always a priority.
Am I a good candidate?
Suitability is assessed individually during your consultation. Your doctor will consider your medical history, skin condition and personal goals before making any recommendations. Not everyone is a candidate for every treatment, and we will always be honest with you about what is and isn’t appropriate for your situation.
What should I expect afterwards?
This depends on the treatment discussed and agreed upon during your consultation. Your doctor will walk you through exactly what to expect before you leave — including any aftercare instructions, what is normal in the days following treatment and when to get in touch if you have any concerns.
