Performed by our qualified medical professionals, our Anti-Sweating Injections provide relief from excessive sweating by inactivating the sweat glands in your area of concern. Blocking the nerve pulse that reaches that area leads to less perspiration and allows you to return to living your life with confidence.
What to expect
How do anti-sweating injections work?
Small quantities of anti-wrinkle injections (Botulinum Type A) are administered into the treatment area (traditionally underarms) to block the message from your brain to your sweat glands. This blocking process temporarily inactivates your sweat glands which leads to less perspiration.
What are the benefits of anti-sweating injections?

How many treatments do I need?
Anti-Sweating treatments generally last around 3 to 4 months with repeat treatments required to maintain results. Depending on your hyperhidrosis severity, your doctor will discuss your individual treatment plan.
I’m booked in for a treatment! Do I need to do anything beforehand?
Great! We look forward to welcoming you to The Skin Lab. Prior to your Anti-Sweating treatment, we recommend shaving your treatment area so your injections can be easily administered.
What are the costs, and is the treatment covered by Medicare?
A Medicare rebate is available for anti-sweating injections for eligible people (those with excessive underarm sweating who have failed or been intolerant to treatment with Driclor® deodorant). Up to three treatments a year can be claimed when performed by our Medicare-approved dermatologists.
An initial consultation will be required prior to your first treatment. This is charged at $270 with a rebate of $78.95. The price of treatment is $500, with a medicare rebate of $220.

What happens during my treatment?
All anti-sweating treatments begin with a comprehensive consultation where you’ll share your medical history, background and treatment goals.
The severity of hyperhidrosis will be determined to ensure you are suitable for the treatment and if suitable your dermatologist will prepare a treatment plan and determine where injections will be administered on the day of consultation.
What can I expect afterwards?
There is little to no downtime associated with anti-sweating injections. Following your treatment, you will notice sweating will begin to subside with the full effect of your treatment taking place within 14 days.
