You are welcome to book an appointment directly with our dermatologist without a referral. However, a valid referral is generally required to claim a Medicare rebate for a specialist consultation. You may obtain a referral from your regular general practitioner or book an appointment with Dr Dane Andersen or Dr Heather Jenkins, who can assess your concerns and determine whether a referral is appropriate.

Please bring relevant medical records, a list of your child’s current medications, and notes about your child’s skin condition, including how long it’s been present and any previous treatments.

Talk to your child about their appointment in a calm and reassuring manner. Let them know the dermatologist is there to help them feel better. Depending on their age, you can role-play the visit or read them a story about visiting the doctor.
