Are you due for a skin check? Have you seen something on your skin that worries you? At the Skin Lab we highly recommend at least a yearly skin check as part of your skincare routine. All of our Doctors are highly skilled in the examination and diagnosis of skin cancer. Our Doctors are all trained skin surgeons providing the best cosmetic outcome should you require surgery. There are many non-surgical options as well. Bookings can be made via our booking team.
Areas of Concern
Melanoma
Melanoma occurs when malignant (cancer) cells form in melanocytes, the cells that give our skin colour. They can appear anywhere on the body, usually in moles, spots or freckles.
Skin Cancer
Skin cancer occurs when cell mutations form and spread in the skin’s epidermis. There are several different types of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and merkel cell carcinoma.
Treatments
Whether your family has a history of skin cancer or not, we recommend having a full skin check annually, even if you don’t spend large amounts of time outdoors, in order to detect malignancies in time to remove them and prevent them from spreading. All our Doctors have years of experience working with skin cancer in Queensland. Medicare rebates usually apply on skin check appointments.
