Looking to address wrinkles and expression lines around the lips? Did you know The Skin Lab offers laser treatment specifically for lip rejuvenation in order to do just this?
We can effectively reduce fine lines around the lips by stimulating collagen to plump and tighten the skin around the area using CO2 laser. The overall health of the skin will also be improved, with increased cellular activity.
What to expect
Which lasers do you use, and how does the treatment work?
Our Deka Smartxide DOT CO2 laser is used to safely and precisely ablate the tissue around the lips, which effectively tightens and remodels the area as it heals. CO2 lasers are used as the gold-standard of laser skin resurfacing for the entire face, however in this case, we utilise the laser energy on one tiny area alone, quickly and effectively rejuvenating that small region only.
How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments required always depends on the severity of your skin condition, and the results you wish to achieve. You may simply require one, or a series of treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Book a free cosmetic assessment to receive a tailored treatment plan from one of our experienced practitioners.
I’m booked in for a treatment! Do I need to do anything beforehand?
Great! We look forward to welcoming you to The Skin Lab. Prior to your treatment, we ask that you avoid excessive sun exposure. Please note that some skin types may be advised to prep the skin with topical skincare prior to laser treatment.
What happens during my treatment?
Once you have received your consultation and patch test if required, you will return to The Skin Lab for your laser appointment. We use a topical agent to numb the area, before very quickly delivering the laser energy to the site. We will then apply post-laser aftercare, before sending you on your way with extensive at-home instructions to achieve the best possible results.
What can I expect afterwards?
Following your treatment, you may experience some redness or soreness to the treatment site, which should subside within around 5-7 days. You may also experience some stinging and mild skin peeling at this time. Your skin should fully heal in around two weeks, and collagen will continue to form over 4-6 weeks. We may advise you to keep the area covered and to use a broad spectrum high protection sunscreen.
