There is a reassuring steadiness to Nurse Sue that comes from more than four decades of nursing.

Susan is a Registered Nurse with experience across public and private healthcare. For the past decade, she has worked alongside plastic and reconstructive surgeons in Brisbane, supporting minor surgical procedures, wound care and patients through their recovery. She now brings that depth of procedural experience to the dermatology team at The Skin Lab.

Sue is meticulous in the treatment room and has substantial experience in wound care, healing and scar management. Just as importantly, she has a calm way of explaining what is happening and what to expect next, helping patients feel informed and well supported before and after a procedure.

Her nursing career began at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, now the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she trained in general nursing and midwifery. She went on to spend more than 20 years in neonatal intensive care, caring for premature and critically ill babies and supporting their families. Her broader career has also included paediatric cardiac nursing, orthopaedics and scientific work with the South London Blood Bank. That breadth of experience brings perspective, composure and careful clinical attention to the way Sue works today.

Outside nursing, Susan enjoys home design and travel, bringing the same curiosity and eye for detail to life beyond the clinic.
