Susan Lewis

Susan Lewis is a highly experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse and Midwife with over four decades of clinical expertise across both public and private healthcare settings. With a warm and calming presence, Susan has spent the last decade working alongside leading plastic and reconstructive surgeons in Brisbane, assisting in minor surgical procedures and providing compassionate, high-quality pre- and post-operative care.

Currently working at an aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Brisbane, Nurse Sue joined The Skin Lab as well.

Susan is known for her meticulous theatre preparation, precision in wound care, and clear patient education—especially around healing and scar management. She ensures every patient feels supported and well-informed throughout their clinical journey.

Her career began at the Royal Brisbane Hospital (now Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital), where she trained in general nursing and midwifery. Susan later spent over 20 years in neonatal intensive care, providing critical support to premature and ill newborns and their families. Her previous roles also include paediatric cardiac nursing, orthopaedics, and a scientific post at South London Blood Bank, reflecting the breadth and depth of her experience.

Susan is deeply valued for her ability to work harmoniously in multidisciplinary teams, perform under pressure, and maintain the highest standards of clinical care. Outside of nursing, she enjoys home design and travel, always bringing creativity and curiosity to everything she does.
