Say Goodbye to Summer Damage with Pico Genesis: The Ultimate Skin Revitalisation Treatment

As a senior laser and dermal therapist here at The Skin Lab Brisbane, I’m excited to share with you our go-to solution for tackling unwanted pigmentation and sun damage: Pico Genesis. Pigmentation concerns are some of the most common we encounter and can be a leading cause of an aged and dull look. This transformative treatment is perfect for revitalising your skin and achieving a more even and rejuvenated complexion.

How Pico Genesis Works

As opposed to surface treatments Pico Genesis works by homing in on pigment in the deeper layers of the skin. It employs advanced technology to shatter the pigment, breaking it down into smaller particles that your body can then naturally eliminate through its lymphatic system. The result? A clearer, brighter complexion that’s bound to turn heads.

 Why Pico Genesis is Superior

Compared to other laser treatments, Pico Genesis is more precise and effective. Its ultra-short pulses ensure minimal damage to surrounding tissue, reducing downtime and discomfort. This makes it an excellent choice for treating stubborn pigmentation and melasma. Plus, it’s suitable for most skin types, making it a versatile option for anyone looking to improve their skin’s appearance.

What to Expect

While some may find Pico Genesis slightly uncomfortable, it’s important to note that it’s not a painful treatment. To ensure your comfort, we offer a topical anaesthetic that we apply 20 minutes prior to your session if needed. During treatment you may hear the snap, crackle and pop of the pigment as it shatters painlessly beneath the skin. Depending on the extent of your pigmentation, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments, spaced 5 weeks apart, for optimal results.

Post-Treatment Care

After each session, you may notice your skin appearing slightly pink, but fear not – this typically resolves within 48 hours. Additionally, some pigmented areas may appear darker initially, but rest assured, they will lighten as your body gradually removes them. This process may take up to 6 weeks, so patience is key.

Recommended Homecare

To enhance and maintain your results, we recommend integrating a few key homecare measures into your routine:

  1. Sunscreen: Daily application of a broad-spectrum sunscreen is crucial. This protects your skin from further UV damage and helps prevent the recurrence of pigmentation.
  2. Tyrosinase Inhibitor: Using a tyrosinase inhibitor like Aspect Dr Complete Pigment Plus provides additional support in managing pigmentation. This serum helps to reduce the production of melanin, ensuring your skin remains even-toned and radiant.
  3. Retinol: Incorporate Aspect Dr Exfol A, a retinol serum, into your nighttime routine to increase cellular turnover. This powerful combination with Complete Pigment Plus helps to enhance your skin’s rejuvenation and maintain a glowing complexion.
